Birds? Cage? Necessary?

Are birds really necessary to have a glam cage? (you may recall my feelings on taxidermy...eekkk. so nothing fake). I have a friend that has 2 white doves that turned into four. I was at her home for a party and now she's down to two doves.

I really want a glam cage that I found nearby at a great shop, Filthy Gorgeous, but I don't really want to to clean up after birds. Are they necessary?

This great cage can be found here-RianRae.

Choose One

If you could choose any of these coats, which would it be?

Remember how to play? Just look at the items and make a choice. Go from your gut, not price, not current fashion, just if you could choose one, any one which one would it be?

When Opportunity Knocked

Two Tall Girls was able to get an open spot on the Etsy Treasury over the weekend. It was so much fun to put together with great items, all things this Tall Girl certainly wouldn't mind having. The print above is one of the items featured.

Loving this image. It's just beautiful; the colors of the hat with the blue of her eyes, beautiful.

Oh, The Possibilities

Dreaming of all the lovely plants that could be put in a garden space such as this.

Where, oh Where

You know that annoying life-ism sometimes works against you? When you are looking for something specific you just can't find it, but if you weren't looking, you'd see it everywhere!? Well it's happening. I pride myself on knowing just where to go for just about anything so this is making me crazy.

Using this room, designed by J. Randal Powers, as inspiration, Rebel has made her master bedroom even more beautiful than it was in it's 'unfinished' state. Only one piece remains to be added before the space is complete; an architectural fragment. So, our most recent adventure has been searching all retail stores in our area and the internet (of course) without much success as of yet. There have been many maybes but no 'it' piece yet.

1) Must be large, 18" by 20" approximately
2) Must be complimentary to items already in place.

3) Must be able to be hung on wall.
4) Must be perfect.

Paint Perfect

This room is perfect. I love when a design's simplicity makes it perfect. It is easy to have a big budget and decorate any room. The trick is to use basic items like a can of paint, pillows and other basic pieces to create a beautiful space. This room speaks volumes, it is simply elegant, clean and fresh.

Functional Art

Rebel and I found 6 great dining chairs begging for new life and so I've been indulging in a fabric hunt. I have a weakness for fabrics, any kind.
It is not uncommon for me to fall in love with a piece and buy a yard or two not knowing what I might use it for. Some pieces have been used for throw pillows, some have turned out to be perfect for my vision of that years Thanksgiving tablecloth or Easter napkins,
others have become quilted squares on my childrens' beds.
It has happened that I've come across a great armchair in need of a new look and have only had to go so far as my fabric drawer to find a fitting piece.
To me, fabric is functional art.
These upholstery swatches are some of the ones that have recently caught my eye.

An Obsession with Boots

I am obsessed with the boots this season. I love the line at J.Crew and I am so happy to see that grey footwear is still in for this season. I am torn on what color to get. I need all 3 basic colors: brown, black & grey. I am going to keep my eyes open because it is still hot weather here but I am dying to get a pair and wear them with tights and a glam skirt!

Rebel's Musings on Taxidermy

Here's a subject that's been bothering me lately: taxidermy. It's everywhere and frankly, I have a problem with it. What is it about stuffed, preserved, dead animals that we need to see?

The constant stare from the creature is rather unnerving. I know there are many design layouts that show them, and they really look properly placed, but I would not feel good sitting on someone’s couch, under a deer head that they purchased. That’s the other thing, many times it’s not even a trophy from an adventure, but something someone saw in a shop and thought to themselves, “That is what I need to complete my living room”. (and shelled out a lot of $$ for it too)!

I’m sorry I just don’t get it!

Shabby Chateau

This is perfect! Someday Rebel & I will have an adorable store location in which we have all of our vintage finds, fantastic new items that we carry just so that we can pay wholesale for the ones we have purchased for our own homes, and whatever else strikes our fancy. We'll have a cute little dog there as part of the whole experience and she'll have to have an adorable shabby chateau to call her own, just like this one found at European Market, built in 1900 and found in Isle sur la Sorgue. Who doesn't want a home with a bit of history.

I think we'll name her Sasha (as long as Rebel agrees, of course).
