Still a few things to pick up

Now that the holiday is over, there is some fun shopping to be done. These are a few things I will be looking for.

After

This year I must go through all of the Christmas bins and sort the good from the bad and purge. It appears that I have put it off for far too long and now I can't ignore it yet another year. Thoughts on organizing? Do share!

Waiting for the day

The chocolate advent calendars are almost empty, family will arrive soon, and the shopping completed. Now it's just a waiting game. The children are filled with anticipation. It really is exciting and I cherish every Christmas.

While were on the subject

Today I will attempt the following. The clementine sorbetto and white chocolate holiday bark. Wish me luck!

The dark and light contrasts in these rooms are like breathing pure, fresh air.

Gold Dust

I am not typically a fan of gold unless it is subtle. Too off it has a harsh brassy tone that scream "cheap" not "chic". I think both of these rooms are done right.

I adore antique silver. I have been going through my cabinets to determine what I need for gatherings and found this collection. Although not heirloom it looks like it has been around for years.

Welcoming

Such a rich, calm entry. I love all the warm brown woods and it's amazing how much the single tree branch does. It would be a much different feel without it.

A dedicated library would be dreamy. I'm not sure what I'd do there but I'd like to have the opportunity to explore that.

Weekend Plans

I'm going to do my best to get into the Christmas spirit over the weekend. I need to decorate the house. I want to keep it simple. I really like this. A lot.

The color on the walls, the pop of yellow from the lamps and the reflection of the chandelier in the mirror! Don't get me started on the tufted bed.

Simplicity

I love the simplicity of this sitting area. All of the neutrals; white couch, grey walls. It's the details that adds interest. Most especially the painted paneling. I love those lines.

Thinking About

Lately I have been contemplating if I should have bookshelves built into our Great room. It would create symmetry and give me a place to store books, (of all things!) pottery, pictures and of course shells.
