For the Love of Seating

I am trying to sort through my dining room and I can't keep my thoughts straight. In the meantime, I will continue to swoon over these old Cottage Living pieces. Oh! how I miss thee.

The color on the walls, the pop of yellow from the lamps and the reflection of the chandelier in the mirror! Don't get me started on the tufted bed.

Thinking About

Lately I have been contemplating if I should have bookshelves built into our Great room. It would create symmetry and give me a place to store books, (of all things!) pottery, pictures and of course shells.

Continuing through November

The thing I like about Halloween is that I can take down the spooky stuff and keep all the Fall inspired things up through the month.

Do you Purge?

By purge I mean go through your belongings and weed through them sending them off to a thrift store? Not the other kind, that is so '87. (anyone remember the film Heather's)?

I am the type to rid myself of anything I don't adore at the moment only to sometimes regret the hastiness at a later date. What do you do, and how do you store the things you hang onto?

I am happy to re-discover this DIY from an old Cottage Living. I loved it then and I think I will attempt something similar. The weather is not co-operating which is so frustrating, but I'm in the mood to get Fall moving forward.
