What is it about stairways? There's such a romanticism to them and even a sense of adventure. Growing up the kids bedroooms were upstairs. The stairwell was a passage to our own little world. Images-House Beautiful, Location Works.
In my own home I need color but I am drawn to the simplicity of spaces like this where there is not one single focal point. Everything works together in a simple way to create a calm and beautiful space. Image-Traditional Home
This a fantastic kitchen space, I love all the rustic, worn materials. The highlight however is the vertical garden. It can be used outdoors or in as long as it's in a spot with direct sunlight and the growing options are endless. I know that if I had a spot for it in the kitchen, it would be full of lettuces and herbs. Find the Vertical Garden at Smith & Hawken.
There are so many great aspects to this house. The wisteria, the portico, the brick and on and on it goes. This is not a house, it's a home. Image-Location Works
Karyn has posted in the past about how individual art is to each person. I couldn't agree more. The art I tend to be drawn to is placed in large groupings. There is always a lot going on and each piece is perfectly placed so that the placement becomes the art within art. Images-Domino
Love the contrasts in this space; chandelier, tablecloth, domed silver server, all in a space of such beauty and disarray. You have to wonder, is the renovation underway or is it completed? What do you think? Images- Location Works
As a whole, this room is a little too delicate for me but there are definitely aspects that I love. That's half the fun of seeing new spaces, I think, looking at each piece and seeing how it all came together to be the design and then envisioning them in other settings. Like these chairs, in my dining room. It would work. Image-Sunset
In this room, there are no worries. It's inhabitants are barefoot & tan. The window is open to let in the ocean breeze. There is sand on those hardwood floors all of the time and it doesn't bother anyone.
Like most people, when it comes to art, I only like what I like. Oversized art works for me. Sketched looking things work for me. A casualness about art works for me. Therefore, this piece with clamp light attached, works for me.
We are two women, not that we like the sound of that because we are a lot more fun than the word lends the imagination to believe. We are mothers, wives, and friends obsessed with design, décor, fabric, foliage, pop culture and everything in-between that is associated with the like.
