New

This is the newest store opening under the Gap Corporation umbrella. It is an accessory only store called Edition. When TTG go to SF, we will have to check it out.

Isn't that the first thing you think of when you see this room?! Lovely.

Bar Ready

My husband and I are planning some summer parties to host this year. One of the things that is so much fun about hosting is the planning. I love to find a new cocktail to serve. Mostly because of the tasty concoction but really it's about putting together a fabulous bar.

Expectations

So looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning. It's what keeps me moving through the week, the expectation of little extra sleep. Doesn't this bed look like one that would be hard to make yourself get out of?

Details, Details

Oh, I hadn't seen these before! Lovely.

Planting

Want to participate in Earth Day but just feel like you don't have the time? Well, how about simply planting a few extra plants in your yard to attract and support bees? The list of plants that help is long and varied; poppy, sunflower, butterfly bush, roses, zinnias (and so many more). You'll be adding beauty to your yard and helping to beautify the entire world by keeping bees busy!

Beyond

I can imagine walking up to these closed doors and as I push one open, moved by the creaky sound, I am excited to see what lays beyond them. I think it is a . . . What would it be for you?

Playing Favorites

This room is a favorite from Cottage Living. There is so much variance while staying monochromatic. The use of toile with the stripe, add the numbered chairs and that chalkboard and it all adds up to perfection.

I do miss Cottage Living, their ideas always seem easily translated to real life.

Let's Go Outside

Love the quirkiness of this outdoor space. There's so much good stuff going on here. The metal everything, the muted colors and all of those succulents!

Review

We've talked about Mothology before. We're still fans.
1.
Still can't get enough of the french linen.
2. These frames with an insect print, fabulous.
3. The perfect summer bag.

An Adventure

Old cameras are so exciting! You never know who they might have belonged to or where they've traveled. Rebel found one for our shop recently and there was even a finished roll of film just waiting to be developed in it. After a full week of waiting, I'm off this morning to pick up the developed film(fingers crossed that it turns out) and see what story might be told about this one.

*Update-we have to try another shop for developing as the film was too old to be processed at this one. And so, the wait continues.

Tick Tock

Looking at my calendar, I can't believe how quickly time passes. We are already well on our way through the first quarter of the 2009, 2009! What happened to January, February, March? These months seem to pass in a flash. All the more reason to be present in the moment. These precious days with ourselves, friends, and family are on the clock, so let's make the most of them.

Trunk Space

This bedside "table" is perfect. Not only do I love the layers of suitcases but I know it conceals something that I am always in short supply of; storage.

In Order

I love spring time, the flowers, the weather and yes, even the cleaning. As you remember from the post "The Truth of the Matter" I need to have order. Not too much, but enough to keep my thoughts straight. So, knowing that it is a lot of work, the outcome is well worth it.

Weekend Plans

Today is sunny and beautiful. Rain is headed in over the next few days. Heading out to enjoy the calm before the storm. Maybe do a little gardening, stop for a garage sale or two. How about you? What adventures will your weekend hold?

Oh, Spring!

Both Rebel and I love our yards. I think it is safe to say that for each of us the yard is an art expression. As soon as Spring starts coming in we are out admiring the progress of our plants & making plans for garden additions. With the nice weather, we are happy to be out doors and our yards are able to again become extensions of our interiors where we have the added benefit of beautiful fragrant plants, birds and breezes. For these reasons, this outdoor space from House Beautiful excites us.

April ________ Day

Wouldn't it be fantastic if April Fool's Day became April Food Day instead? The statistics on hunger in America are surprising. We certainly support this concept and hope that you will join us in making a contribution to Feeding America (formerly Second Harvest). Click here to make a donation.

The Truth of the Matter

You may have seen these photos in Living last month. I love them because they are so true for Two Tall Girls. Rebel works best in a setting similar to Martha's (top) and I am like a whirlwind. Last week when Rebel offered to come help me organize our inventory and my own stuff in my office, I thought that would be perfect but she has to understand that it's only a matter of time before it goes back to looking like Martha's Collections Editor (bottom).
