More on the Subject

The thing about sea life in decor is that it just never get's old. This set up will be in style forever. I marvel in the truth that it's a classic that's somehow always fresh.

Sea Life

These plates remind me of the promise of Summer. I love the anticipation of the beach, warm sand, and all the scents that are associated with them.

Piece by Piece

This clock and those chairs are winners! We just started a project with chairs similar to these but better. The frame is kind of feathered. They are lovely.

Oh, a french nursery! Couldn't that be a beautiful simplicity?

An Introduction

The entryway is not an area to be overlooked. You know what they say about first impressions.

Display

The jumble and mess of this display is it's beauty. You keep looking to be sure that you haven't missed an hidden treasure somewhere in all the stacks and you have so once you see it, you have to look even longer, just in case.

Stoned

Since I spent the first portion of my life in Arizona I feel completely drawn to stone, especially turquoise. I remember seeing big, chunky necklaces, rings and bracelets not only on the Navajo Indian but on a lot of women and men. The cowboy belt buckles were huge and amazing. I love these photos of stone. I think it is timeless and I will always search for the perfect stone accessory to decorate me or my home.

Accidentally Beautiful

Stacks and stacks of books piled up and down a lovely worn staircase. It all looks like it just happened over time. Maybe the first stack of books was one that needed to be taken upstairs and never was then it just became the place where books are kept. I love how the wood used on the stairs is so rustic without a finish and the way they meet the octagon tiles on the landing so casually.

Magnifique

Here's a great token of affection that could be worn almost as a signature piece. Any of these would go with everything.

Two Red Umbrellas

A well traveled couple could have a fantastic little sentimental art collection by buying one of each of the cities they've been to together. San Fransisco, New York, Paris, London, each of these prints is lovely. Find them here.

Gorgeous!

These paper wreaths are definitely an exercise in creativity. Created by an architect who decided to take a break from the business world and stay home with her children.

Details, Details

This kitchen is all about the details. The red knobs on the stove coordinate with the reds in the fabric treatment, a toile country scene, well suited to it's use in the kitchen. The paper towels are discrete and easily accessible and the cutting board is so user friendly.

Moon Garden

Definition- A nondescript spot in the yard that becomes extraordinary with the addition of fragrant plants, white blooms and silvery foliage. A garden intended to be enjoyed at the end of the day when all else has been set aside.

Fashion Focus

Currently inexplicably in love with-

1. The belted sweater most especially with this belt (it's a double wrap). I really don't know what the big deal is but I'm hooked.

2. The Juliet Dress. I'll take one in every color and just make my daily clothes choice simple.

3. Every single piece of this ridiculously simple outfit.

Looking good never seemed so simple as it looks here. Now if only I'd still feel that way tomorrow morning, standing in my closet!

In Agreement

I'd like to think this is the bedroom of a couple of sisters who decided that they needed each other close much more than they needed their own half of the room.

Forecast

I'm so glad the groundhog saw his shadow. I'm not ready to put away my boots and sweaters, I haven't gotten enough of winter yet. While I know that this outfit would be way too much on me all at once, I sure do like it piece by piece.
Image-I'll fill this in later as I can't recall at this moment.

Personal Space

Of all the rooms in a house, the bedroom is the most personal. The decorating should reflect that. Personally, this room would work for me. A burlap bedskirt with that headboard, what could be better?

Lady Bird

This photo of Lady Bird Johnson, posted by All the Best, has been on my mind. It's the fabric on the couch, the frill on the curtains and the color combination of grey and yellows.
