Paying Homage

Karyn and I are in a Supper Club with a group of friends. There is usually a theme to follow. Tonight my husband and I are hosting and we will pay tribute to one of my favorites Julia Child. I adored the movie Julie & Julia and each couple will cook something from the book Mastering The Art of French Cooking. My (hopefully successful) dish will be Boeuf Bourguignon. Yes, I will be wearing pearls while cooking in the kitchen. Shouldn't we all wear something glamorous while we master the art of anything?

I love these drapes and their cornice boxes way more than I should. I think it's the fabric right next the the unfinished looking wood. It helps that I've been totally into drapery lately.

Cross your fingers

A purchase has been made. The machine should arrive early this week. I am hoping that this machine will solve my 20 minute drive (each way) to satisfy my cravings.

It is a chilly overcast day that screams "make soup". I am not sure which one to try? The cream of broccoli with cheese toasts or the white bean with bacon and escarole? Both sound delicious.

I have a problem I have to admit. I love Peet's coffee and I have a latte daily. So, I am thinking I should have my own machine so I can have a latte from the comfort of my own home. Also, it will be a cost savings in the long run? Do any of you have an espresso machine that is amazing? Do I really need to spend $$$ to get a quality machine? Please share your experience and advice.

Future Plans

Someday in my house in the country there will be a room just like this. Perfect for those days made simply for reading, sleeping and then reading some more.

I adore hanging pots and pans. I have been trying to think of a way to incorporate a rack into my kitchen. I don't know if it's possible but until then, I will admire these.

At the Office

I think I could be very happy working in this space. It's so bright and clean. I love the brown of the ceiling beams and the chair with all of that white! See the clip board hanging on the side of the desk? That's one of my absolute favorite picture "frames".

Reflection

Mirror, mirror how I love thee. Not from a vanity standpoint, but from the reflection of light it presents. I don't think there could be too many mirrors in one's home.

So Put Together

Grey table, skinny golden lamps with pink shades, tall lantern, antique mirror, peonies! Any one of these pieces is lovely alone. Put them all together and you have a great space.
